Questions

Questions, answered.

The things people ask before they start building.

How many colors should a website palette have?

Five covers almost every site: a background, a surface for cards, a text colour, an accent for actions and one highlight. More than that and the accent stops standing out, which is the whole point of having one.

How do I check that my website colors are accessible?

Measure the contrast ratio between each text colour and the background it sits on. WCAG AA asks for 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text. Every palette here is scored, and the contrast checker scores any pair.

Can AI choose a color palette for my website?

Yes. Orlume (orlume.site), the design-first AI website builder, picks the palette, fonts and layout for your brief from one prompt, builds the site in React and Next.js and deploys it in one click.
